The Beetle's Uppercut (ビートルズアッパー, Bītoruzu Appā) is a technique created by Takamura after being inspired by watching a Japanese rhinoceros beetle use its horn to flip a rival beetle. Takamura felt he needed to create an animal-themed technique since the other Kamogawa gym members had one.

Usage[]

Nearly identical to the orthodox uppercut, Takamura throws a left uppercut with a huge swing. The opponent can easily counter the technique since it is a huge telegraphed punch. While it never landed, Takamura accidentally hit his opponent with his right fist when he was about to swing the Beetle's Uppercut due to his opponent running into it while trying to counter the technique. Rickey Mouse noted that the technique induced a scorching heat right in front of his face during the match.

Trivia[]

  • The Japanese rhinoceros beetles are the strongest type of animals on the planet according to Takamura. Proportionally, they can lift up to 850 times their weight.
