The Bloody Cross (血の十字架, Chi no Jūjika (ブラッディ・クロス, Buraddi Kurosu)) is a counter killer technique used by Arnie Gregory.
The name implies a "cross painted in blood", referencing to the "cross" made when a boxer throws a Cross Counter, and then the end result if Gregory successfully uses the Bloody Cross.
Usage[]
When Gregory sends out a left jab or straight and the opponent attempts to counter with a Cross Counter, Gregory quickly bends his outstretched arm at the elbow, throwing the Cross Counter off-angle, following up with a right short uppercut to the exposed chin. This tactic was specifically designed to shut down counter punchers completely. The technique also surpasses the liver blow.[1]
Gregory is unable to stop the Cross Counter if his opponent's entire weight is put into the counter, as his opponent can fix the counter's alignment.[2]
