The White Fang's Destination is Round 1007 of Jōji Morikawa's Hajime no Ippo manga series.
Details[]
- Title Page Character(s): Alexander Volg Zangief, Mike Elliott
Summary[]
Volg's White Fang lands as him and Elliott hit each other in a dual exchange for the first hit of the White Fang, and then Volg lands the second hit of the White Fang without getting hit. Volg uses the Tsubame Gaeshi as a setup for his White Fang, hitting Elliott both times. After a right-on-right dual exchange, both boxers stumble around until they fall over. Elliott falls on the canvas, while Volg falls and hangs over the ropes. Elliot's manager yells at the referee to pick him up as it is his job, however, Elliot's coach punches the manager, scolding him for making a deal with the referee, hoping he gets suspended. Elliott's coach and a another second enters the ring, resulting in the match ending in Volg's victory and him becoming the IBF junior lightweight champion. In the ring, Volg thanks Dankichi and his two other seconds before wearing his new IBF junior lightweight belt. For his victory interview, Volg first thanks America in English for giving him a chance, his friends in Japan in Japanese, and his late mother from Russia in Russian.
Trivia[]
- In the Weekly Shōnen Magazine release, Volg's junior lightweight IBF belt in pages 14, 15, 17, and 18 was erroneously depicted as the WBA belt. This is fixed in the tankōbon release as it was redrawn to the correct IBF belt.
