Summary[]
In the waiting room, Kamogawa, Yagi, and Shinoda enter and informs the worried Ippo that Itagaki was taken straight to the doctor, and that he is conscious with Aoki and Kimura there with him. Shinoda and Yagi leave after Shinoda notes that there is nothing they can do about it now, but he will focus on being in his corner so he should focus on his match. As Ippo focuses on his upcoming match, Kamogawa tells him to not panic if he gets hit, instead, think of it as a natural consequence of facing the second best in the world, and warns him to not get too emotional, as he may end up taking a counter like in his match against Kojima. Kamogawa advises him to try and stay calm, steady, and focus on dodging his left as practised, and once he is able to dodge, start closing in and increase the pressure. After headbutting Ippo, Kamogawa tells him that if he wins this, the world is next. Ippo replies that he will do his best to use everything he taught him and it is time to find out whether or not he can do it. In Alfredo's waiting room, Alfredo tells his coach that he was able to focus, and that there was nothing to distract him despite being in enemy territory, deeming the people in Japan too soft, including Ippo, vowing to not let him reach Ricardo. As Ippo and his seconds exit their room, Kamogawa points out Ippo wearing blue trunks with no belt weighing him down, deeming his a pure challenger.
