He will fight back until the end, and while doing this, his opponent will question if their punches are affecting him or not, and then get anxious, starting to feel the mental pressure. Miyata mentions the last person to knock him off his feet was Sanada on his 14th match, and Kojima was his 24th match, noting that Ippo hasn't gone down since. While Ippo and Alfredo fights, the gong rings, and the referee jumps between them, breaking them up as the second round ends. While Alfredo goes to his corner, he thinks Ippo is thinking he is getting somewhere, that he can push the fight in his range. Ippo goes his corner and he thinks that he can actually hit world's number two fighter. Alfredo's coach wants Alfredo to avoid the body blows, but he doesn't listen. The coach reminds him about the bad habits of his. Alfredo bows his head and says he's fine and calm. Miyata describes what Ippo will do throughout the match. He believe Ippo will keep the same strategy in the third, fourth, and fifth rounds. Miyata wonders if Alfredo has any idea on how he can push Ippo back and defeat him. At Ippo's corner, Kamogawa tries to stop the bleeding. Ippo doesn't mind the blood, because he knows how to close in on Alfredo now, and when does, it won't be hard for him to judge the distance. Ippo gets up, claiming that it looks like things are going his way. The third round begins.
