Wind God's Collision is Round 1055 of Jōji Morikawa's Hajime no Ippo manga series.
Details[]
- Styles Introduced: Mextli Mode
- Title Page Character(s): Ricardo Martínez, Lisa
Summary[]
As Ippo weaves in the figure eight motion of the Dempsey Roll, Fujii notes how he hasn't used that technique since his match with Wally. Miyata claims that he only used it defensively since he just did the motion in that match, believing that Ippo will be using it offensively this time. In Mexico, Ricardo meets Lisa while he doing his morning roadwork. Ricardo asks if she is worried as Alfredo might have trouble since Ippo uses a very powerful technique. Lisa tells Ricardo that Alfredo is doing his best against Ippo in order to get another chance to fight him. Ricardo claims he knows how strong Alfredo is with his two faces, noting that Alfredo is hard to deal with in his dangerous Mextli Mode, where he fights how he originally did. Lisa asks Ricardo if he think Alfredo can win, but Ricardo claims that she is better off asking God. Back in Japan, everyone in the audience is excited to see the technique begin, while Date notes how he gets chills every time he sees it, wondering if he would still win if Ippo had it back when he fought him. Puzzled by what Ippo is doing, Alfredo walks towards the violent movements and grins as he wonders what he is looking at. Sendō thinks that Alfredo is going to take on the Dempsey Roll head on. Alfredo's coach notes that the Mextli Mode is his original boxing style born from a man who used his fists to survive on the streets. He adds that the ruthless attacks earned him his nickname, and it can be compared to street fighting.
