Summary[]

Alfredo is irritated that Ippo underestimates the world stage as to Alfredo, the world means Ricardo. As Ippo and Alfredo continue throwing full powered punches that miss, Miyata sees that Alfredo is slowly starting to match up the Dempsey Roll's punches despite all the weaving Ippo is doing. Yagi wonders if Alfredo has studied the Dempsey Roll, but Kamogawa claims he hasn't, as he saw with the other counters, he guesses that it is the first time Alfredo has seen the Dempsey Roll, otherwise he would have shut it down more cleanly. Kamogawa adds that Alfredo seems to be searching for an angle to land a counter by diving in each time. Alfredo's coach thinks that Alfredo is more angry than cautious now, as him facing Ricardo again mean a lot to him, as well as he found Ippo lacking the right to face him. He tells his other second that Mextli Mode is a double edge sword, as even though his offence is more powerful, his defence is lower, and the more he gets agitated, the higher the risks. He adds that Alfredo can't stop, since he is too angry to calm down and lost control, reverting him back to his original style that took him the furthest against Ricardo. As Alfredo is throwing a left to counter Ippo's left hook of the Dempsey Roll, Ippo stops the attack. Alfredo is unable to stop, and throws his left straight. As Ippo continues the attack, Alfredo stops the Dempsey Roll by pressing his body onto Ippo's stretched out left arm and chest, preventing the arm from moving. Sendō is amazed by Alfredo's instincts, and Miyata feels as if Alfredo keeps smothering every last hope Ippo has. Ippo thinks that nothing he has learned works on Alfredo, while Kamogawa yells for Ippo to keep going.
