Ippo, Aoki, Kimura, and Itagaki wonder how far they will go. Itagaki states that he needs to get the JBC featherweight belt back from Imai. Aoki states his goal is to get back at Iga. Kimura claims that he is just sticking around and if he sees an opportunity to get a champion belt, he'll take it. Ippo claims that after watching his fight against Alfredo, he has decided that he wants to see how close he can get and how far he can go and do his best. He adds that after seeing Takamura, Sendō, and Mashiba fight, for one to aim for the world they have to discard a bit of their humanity. Aoki, Kimura, and Itagaki discuss Ippo having the right tools to become a world champion, but his mindset of being inhuman seems impossible, as he was only vicious when an opponent hurt or offended someone close to him, not knowing what it would take to change his core. That night, while thinking about a goal before sleeping, Ippo dreams about Kumi working with him at the fishing boat.
