Summary[]
Ōshima throws jabs at Iga's block before using footwork to create a distance. Ippo thinks Ōshima is good, but Takamura doesn't. Takamura thinks that if he was Ōshima, he would wait for the end of Iga's swing that he the same motion every time, and then aim for his head. Ōshima uses the same idea as Takamura had, however, Iga blocks. In round six, as Iga rushes forward and Ōshima blocks his body blow, Ōshima tries to hit Iga's head since he used the same motion as all the other times, but Iga blocks the punch. As the Tokugawa coach expresses his worry to Baron about Iga's talent being crushed, Baron just wants him and the audience to shut up. Iga and Ōshima makes attempts to hit each other in the same motion repeatedly until Iga aims for Ōshima's face instead of his body, landing his first clean hit. The punch to the jaw makes Ōshima go down, and the referee ends the match immediately, making Iga the new JBC lightweight champion. Baron questions the coach for his worrying, as Iga's training did it's job, and laughs as the audience became quiet. As Kamogawa, Yagi, and Shinoda had watched the match on TV in the waiting room, they note how Iga's plan that had him win must have required a lot of planning and practise. Shinoda is warned by Kamogawa that he will have to fight Iga and Baron just as much as Aoki. Baron takes over the mic in the ring when the interviewer wanted to interview Iga, claiming that Iga is not a talker and takes credit for how Iga won. Aoki reveals his letter of challenge to Ippo, Kimura, Itagaki, and Takamura, who all believe that it must be for Iga. However, Aoki claims it is for Ōshima so that he can climb the ranks and challenge Iga. Itagaki claims that no one is allowed in the loser's locker room. Takamura tells his gym mates to let Aoki do what he wants as long as it helps him get stronger. Takamura adds that in the end, how strong a boxer is what justifies their existence. Takamura tells his gym mates that they should chase after their goals with all they got as there is nothing wrong with giving it their all.
