Summary[]
Itagaki thinks back on how Ippo's face was described before walking away from the Iwata's Chinese Noodles. Inside, Teru states that Taihei has had a reputation for being strong before Ippo taught him boxing. He then talks about Taihei's brother who is dead to Taihei because one day at elementary school, he went to see his brother off, but all he saw was a laughing stock. Seeing everyone laughing at him made his spirit break and has been fighting ever since. Takamura and Aoki then believes that Taihei's problems are his brother's fault. Umezawa reminds everyone that they should do something about Ippo, who is on his way to turn himself in. Kimura tells Umezawa to not worry and to leave it to the him and the others, as the situation affects the gym as a whole. Teru worries about Ippo getting a criminal record, but Kimura states that Ippo's fists are full of justice and that whatever happens, nothing will change the bond that he and the gym members have with him. At the police station, Ippo tells the officer that he slapped Taihei in the face. The officer asks for Taihei's information, but Ippo only knows his name. With no victim present to report, the officer can't arrest him,. He then gets a call for a robbery and leaves Ippo to sign his nae and address in order to be arrested when someone does show up. Outside the police station, Itagaki sees Ippo and states that Taihei lives and breathes fighting and that a slap isn't enough for him to file a police report. Ippo disagrees, saying that he did something bad and should be punished. Itagaki points out the rain has stopped, but Ippo believes it is still a downpour. On the next day at school, Teru meets up with Taihei, who has recently been kicked out due to fighting. Taihei states that he has told the other delinquents not to bully Teru, but Teru believes that the bullying will not stop, as Taihei wasn't the only one who forced him to be alone. However, Teru tells Taihei that he will not be his way of killing time anymore. Teru then relays Ippo's message, telling him to file a police report. Taihei replies that even if he did, he doesn't remember anything other than looking at a demonic face. He asks Teru what happened to him after that, but Teru replies that he doesn't know while walking away laughing.
