Summary[]
Takamura shows everyone the "7 Years Killing" technique, by breaking three out of seven plate with two fingers. While talking about using it for Taihei's older brother, a bald Ippo enters the gym and asks for Kamogawa in order to say his apologises. In Kamogawa's office, he returns the mitts, saying that he's not apt to be a leader nor qualified to wear the mitts. Ippo requests to be exiled, however Kamogawa states that exiling isn't enough. Kamogawa has the first atonement being to clean the gym for three months, then Yagi has Ippo look out the window. Ippo finds Taihei and another juvenile delinquent outside with shaved heads. Taihei states that he and the other delinquent has a change of heart and wants to enrol to the gym, wanting to rely on Ippo's guidance. At first, Ippo declined, but after hearing Taihei say that back then, Ippo was just scolding him, Ippo decides to let them join. Kamogawa states that the second atonement is to lead them. When Ippo goes outside to meet them, Kimura and Aoki notices Taihei. Ippo becomes shocked when he hears Kimura state that Taihei is Aoki's little brother. Taihei and the other delinquent introduces themselves as Taihei Aoki and Kintarō Kaneda.

- As of this chapter there have been eight characters in the story that have cut their hair. Tatsuya Kimura, Masaru Aoki, Isamu Akamatsu, Hiroshi Kizakura, Naomichi Yamada, Ippo Makunouchi, Taihei Aoki, and Kintarō Kaneda.
- The issue that this chapter appeared in, Weekly Shōnen Magazine celebrates its 60 years mark, along with Hajime no Ippo celebrating its 30 year mark.
- In the Weekly Shōnen Magazine version, it shows Takamura with six fingers on his hands in multiple panels. This was not fixed in the volume version.
- Kimura calls Taihei, "Ta-bō", where "-bō" is a suffix for young boys.
