The Sandbag's Silent Sway is Round 1264 of Jōji Morikawa's Hajime no Ippo manga series.
Details[]
- Character(s) Introduced: Michael Goat
- Title Page Character(s): Genji Kamogawa, Ippo Makunouchi
Summary[]
Kamogawa disagrees with Ippo's statement on how losing was inevitable. Kamogawa asks what a left is, and asks Ippo to translate the meaning of "The person who controls the left controls the world." After Ippo translated the meaning, Kamogawa begins to explain what a "jab" is. Ippo concludes that the reason he lost was because he forgot the meaning of the jab. Kamogawa, however, believes it to be setting aside his short sword to achieve victory, as he sees Ippo as him turning himself turning into a blade and piercing forward. Ippo begins to regret not using jabs and then using the Dempsey Roll and forgetting what Kamogawa taught him, wondering what would happen now after noticing it. Kamogawa stops Ippo's thoughts, telling him to teach the two that look up to him everything he learned after looking back. After Kamogawa leaves, Ippo wonders why Kamogawa did not scold him before realising that it is because he is no longer a boxer. Later, at the Roigal Hotel, a press conference is being held for the first ranker in the WBC and WBA, Michael Goat and WBC and WBA world champion, Takamura. After Goat claims to give the champion his first loss, Takamura claims that Goat will be the last man to lose to him in the middleweight class, as he will be moving up the super middleweight class after the match.
