Details[]
- Title Page Character(s): Mamoru Takamura, Genji Kamogawa, Taihei Aoki, Kintarō Kaneda, Ippo Makunouchi
Summary[]
Ippo has figured out how the challenger's punches hit the top of Takamura's gloves, as if the latter had predicted it. However, Ippo realised that it was not a mere prediction, but a compensation, as something was different than he originally anticipated. As Kamogawa wonders what Ippo realised, Takamura suggests to not waste his time worrying about Ippo, as he claims the former boxer will never return to the ring, and to instead watch him. Round two begins, Takamura throws a left that misses Goat, who begins to attack Takamura's guard. Takamura, wishing for Kamogawa to enjoy the show instead of watching suffering, regret, remorse, recklessness, anguish, pain, despair, and disappointment, throws a left hook that misses Goat. Goat retaliates, however Takamura blocks the attack and both boxers distance each other. Ippo recalls that this distance is where Takamura would raise his guard in advance. He is then shocked after witnessing Takamura attacking instead, hitting Goat with a right. Goat attempts to predict Takamura's left hook followup, however Takamura changes the trajectory, turning it into a straight, hitting the challenger's face and causing him to go down. Goat stands back up and begins to guard his face at the upcoming left hook. As Ippo remembers his former coach's words, Takamura changes the trajectory again, turning it into a body blow, causing Goat to go down, with his knees on the canvas.
