Summary

Ippo notices Miyata nearby and stops himself from yelling out, puzzled by how Miyata knew he was going to. As Miyata continues to read what Ippo is thinking in his head, Ippo realises that he always yells out when he suddenly sees Miyata. Miyata explains that he came to watch his former gym mate, Takamura, fight. When Miyata reveals to Ippo how he is almost certain that Dragon's dominant arm is his left, Ippo also confirms that he noticed it too while watching Dragon play mahjong. Miyata becomes surprised that Ippo was able to notice something like that outside of boxing training, noting how Ippo has an unbelievable level of insight and observation, and wondering what would Ippo be able to do if they fight with his experience in the ring and knowledge and perspective he gained outside of it. Ippo goes back to Takamura's dressing room to help prepare for the match. There Taihei and Kintarō needs Ippo to help them figure out how to build Takamura's costume made by Wataru. Takamura entrusts Ippo to build his costume as he does mitt practise with Kamogawa. At the audience area, Miyata tries to avoid going to his seat, as he shares the same spot as Aoki, Kimura and Itagaki, however, he gets dragged into sitting with them. Itagaki asks Miyata of his opinion on the match, to which Miyata claims that he has no opinion since Takamura hasn't fought in the super middleweight class before, and won't be able to determine if he can deal with the weight class barrier that stands in his way until the early rounds. As the match is about to begin, Takamura enters the ring. Takamura's wings are closed and controlled by a device to open them, however, the operator, Ippo, doesn't know the timing for him to press the button.

• While Ippo Makunouchi, Taihei Aoki, and Kintarō Kaneda were looking at Mamoru Takamura's costume before it was built, they thought it looked like a Kshatriya from Gundam.
