Intending to change the pace, Takamura throws a one-two. Dragon dodges the first hit and counters the second hit with a left hook, hitting Takamura, who nullifies the power by slipping back. However, when Takamura stomps his right foot down to prevent him from skidding back too much, he loses his footing while doing so and bumps into the referee, causing him to put more pressure on his injured right foot as he prevents himself from falling. In visible pain, Takamura hops on his left foot away from Dragon. Noticing Takamura's bad luck, Dragon remembers how his bad luck turned into good luck when he was younger. He recalls covering his ears when the media surrounded his home as his drug addicted father committed suicide, and when his mother hung herself. He wanted to follow his mother, but decided to spend his last coin before doing so. However, when he spent his coin gambling, he won, and kept winning even though he wanted to lose all of it. He felt as if someone was telling him to not die, thinking that it was God. As Dragon attacks the gaps at the sides of Takamura's guard at the ropes while at a distance to throw a counter if Takamura attacks, the Kamogawa gym members and Miyata acknowledges how strong Dragon is. When Takamura's guard opens up in the middle, Dragon throws a right uppercut, hitting Takamura. Dragon throws a left hook as Takamura bounces back at the ropes, however, Takamura blocks it. Before Dragon can pull back his fist, Takamura moves forward and throws a right inside Dragon's left hook.
