Summary[]
The audience and fighters wait in anticipation for the match to begin in the very tense atmosphere. Once the match begins, Sendō and Ricardo touch gloves and then steps back. The commentator asks co-commentators Date and Takamura of their predictions for the match. Date states how the champion always takes the distance and scopes out the situation, so the challenger will want to secure a point advantage by forcing a punching match while the champion is still scoping him out. Takamura doesn't believe that Sendō is thinking about going for points, instead, he will go for it whether or not he should, even if it doesn't work the first time. Ippo and Miyata agree with Takamura as it is his nature.
Trivia[]
- The chapter's title and the commentator's line in the chapter "Siege of Osaka" was a series of battles undertaken by the Japanese Tokugawa shogunate against the Toyotomi clan, and ending in that clan's destruction. Divided into two stages, the winter campaign and the summer campaign, it lasted from 1614 to 1615.
