Summary[]
Hiroko and Umezawa take care of the work at the boat, while Ippo rests from his match. Ippo wakes up, and read the newspaper article about his fight with Date. He apologises to Umezawa for losing despite all the cheering, Umezawa cheers him up and points out another article. The article is about a match for the newly vacated JBC featherweight title between Volg, and Sendō. At the gym, Ippo tells Kamogawa that examinations on his conditions are not complete, but he shows no signs of brain damage. He then tells Ippo to rest for no less than three months. When Ippo leaves, Kamogawa and Yagi both express relief at the fact that there is nothing serious with his condition, but they know that soon enough he will be feeling the pain of defeat. Bored at his home, Ippo is happy to receive a call from Kumi, who asks about his condition. She is about to invite him out, when Mashiba takes the phone from her, and insults Ippo for losing the fight. She then takes the phone back and asks if he wants to go out with her on Sunday. Ippo accepts but is clearly affected by Mashiba's words.
