Summary[]

Takamura explains to Ippo and Aoki how even if Kimura manages to get into Mashiba's range, he would still have no move to attack him with. Worried about this, the pair decides to go check on Kimura. They are told by Kimura's mother where he has been training, and once they get there, they find him practising his body blow. They decide to not interrupt him, and watch him for three straight hours until he finally leaves. They conclude that the tire Kimura was hitting, is the same height as Mashiba, and Ippo tells Aoki that if he keeps it up, he could develop a powerful boy blow. However, Ippo notes to himself that he can not admit that against Mashiba, a body blow will not be enough. Aoki goes on to explain how Kimura sacrificed himself by taking the lighter division, while Aoki had the easy path. Ippo understands how losing is harder for Kimura than it is for Aoki, but states that winning the title would then feel so much better. A few days later, Takamura tells them that Kimura has not showed up for sparring with Miyata, nor has he come back to his own gym. The pair immediately go to the park to confirm whether Kimura ran away or not, and find the tire on the floor. They assume it was a group of people they encountered nights ago, who they got into a street fight with (though Ippo stopped Aoki from attacking). As he puts the tire back up, Ippo notices a mark on the tire aside from the body blow's, and wonders what it is. At the Kawahara gym, Kimura appears after his absence and begs Miyata to spar with him in order to test something.
