Summary[]
The day of Kimura's title match arrives, and as he is leaving for Kōrakuen Hall, he leaves his parents confused when he says he will one day take over the business. Fujii explains to Mari that even though Mashiba and Ippo are the most popular Japanese boxers, it is for different reasons. He says those who watch Ippo feel identified with him and come to cheer, while those who watch Mashiba, do so because they want to witness the violence that is a trademark of his "madness". In his waiting room, Kimura asks for the crew to come in after been alone reflecting for five minutes. With the time up, they go in to encourage him, but Kimura states that he will win even if Mashiba does not seem like a human. However, he also informs them that in case he loses, he will retire. After being encouraged by his friends, Kimura is ready to go out (with Aoki serving as one of his seconds this time). As he makes his way up the stairs, Kimura can not stop shaking, but states to himself that he does so not because of fear, but because he is finally about to achieve what he has always wanted.
