Summary

Using the body blows as distraction in order to eventually set up the Sunday punch, Kimura earns the audience's admiration, as they begin cheering for him louder than ever. Kimura is now stupefied at the sight of the entire hall cheering for his son, and expresses how proud he is. As TV Announcer says it, everyone is in shock at the sight of Mashiba being pushed before the round ends. Mashiba believes Kimura will go for the body blows on the next round, so he prepares countermeasures. Knowing he has successfully convinced the champion that he will only use attacks to the body, Kimura prepares to use the Dragonfish Blow. However Aoki states that in his current condition, Kimura must be at his limit. The eighth round (predicted by many to be the final of the match) begins, with Kimura and Mashiba knowing that they must end the fight in order to become the champion, and make it to the world stage respectively. Mashiba decides to attack first with a Flicker Jab that has more power behind it than usual, but he does so without changing his style, which allows Kimura to step in an throw a body strike that Mashiba anticipates, blocks and successfully counters. After shaking Kimura off, Mashiba lands several hits, but a Flicker jab gives Kimura the chance to once again get close to Mashiba and attempt another body blow that is blocked as well. However, this time Kimura attempts to fully go through with his finisher, and lands it cleanly on an unsuspecting Mashiba.
