Summary

Itagaki states to Imai that he will stop him, as Imai and his coach leaves the gym. Outside, Itagaki explains that he got into boxing by seeing how far he could get on his power alone, partaking in boxing matches in high school. Then he met Imai, he wanted to beat him to become number one, but he was ultimately defeated, fighting him three times and losing three times. Takamura asks Ippo, who fought both, who would win in the pro ring, but Ippo really doesn't know. Kimura then states that he should see Imai in the East Japan Rookie King Tournament to get his revenge. At his house, Ippo gets a phone call to go to the shop, as Takamura's world title match is announced, Ippo arrives to the Iwata's Chinese Noodles and is surprised to see everyone is down. Ippo then notices that the announcement was too sudden and being in December would not give Takamura enough time to recover from his match in October. Ippo then continues, stating he would have to be in the junior middleweight for the entire time, making him weak, which is their strategy. Ippo suggests to decline and wait for the next time, but Kamogawa already gave them the 'OK'. Takamura then holds up a picture of the WBC junior middleweight champion Bryan Hawk, stating that in December, he will give him the belt.
