Summary

As Itagaki is in the ring Aoki and Ippo begin to cheer, but are silenced after a cheering squad of girls cheer for him. The announcer then introduces Fumito Makino from the Sayama gym as Itagaki's opponent for his pro debut. Ippo and Aoki notices that Makino has 2 matches, 2 losses on record. As Itagaki is lost in thought, the match begins and Makino rushes in as Itagaki turns around. Makino throws some big swings that miss, Itagaki throws many high-speed jabs that land. As Makino throws big swings, Itagaki lands a counter. Makino begins to remember when his coach told him he has to get dropped from the gym if he loses a third time. Makino then gets desperate and lands a headbutt on Itagaki which stuns him, causing him to go down after getting punched. Itagaki begins arguing over the referee's decision for the down, the fight then continues. Makino rushes in and throws a punch that connects at the elbow, causing Itagaki to go down once again. With Itagaki down for a second time, the referee signals the end of the match, with Makino as the winner and Itagaki as the loser. As Itagaki argues that he was hit with an elbow, the audience begin insulting him, he then walks out of the ring.
