Summary[]
When Ippo and Aoki makes it to the Pension Yoshio, Kamogawa and Nekota lets them in the house. Ippo and Aoki explains that Kamogawa has to return to Tokyo to put Takamura in his place, Kamogawa however, states that he can't leave even if he wanted to due to the snowstorm. Ippo then spots a photo of a girl, when Ippo asks about it, Kamogawa replies that he came to see her, as they had a promise that he would tell her when he had someone he taught take a world title. Nekota tells the two that her name is 'Yuki'. Ippo and Aoki requests to hear a story of Kamogawa and Nekota's past, where boxing was called prize fighting. Nekota notes that when the war ended, so did their golden age and they ran out of luck, Kamogawa disapproves, as his dreams became a reality with Takamura. Nekota then thinks back when Takamura fought Hawk, an American, how it reminded him when Kamogawa fought an American. Kamogawa then explains that during his past, it was a heated era. In the flashback, a young Dankichi eats rice as a young Kamogawa and Nekota argue about their draw. Later, as the three do their roadwork, Dankichi notes how in the ring they hit each other mercilessly, but outside the ring their best friends. Kamogawa explains that after the war, their area was damaged, but in two years it came back to life. The two then go out to see Dankichi's match, when they get there, they see an American soldier as his opponent.
