Summary[]
After four days of training, Ippo's toes are stronger due to tennis ball training. He starts to catch up to Aoki with their road work, but Aoki throws sand in Ippo's eyes to stop him. Next, Ippo trains with Kimura and catches him with his sharp turns. After they are done with Takamura's shadowboxing session, they go to the beach to light fireworks. They call the biggest one "Ippo Hanabi" (reference to Ippo's penis), but it does not work, which prompts Takamura to kick it. They talk about their goals, with Aoki and Kimura aiming for the Japanese title and Takamura saying that is just a stepping stone for him, as he is aiming for the world. Seeing them motivated, Ippo promises to win the Rookie King Tournament. As they look at the fireworks with their goals in mind, the "Ippo Hanabi" fires at them, striking Aoki's chest as the others run.
