Summary[]
The day before the match, Ippo talks with Umezawa about the match. Ippo believes it will be the least complicated match in his career, but also the hardest. Umezawa sees Ippo's expression to that of a challenger. At Okinawa, Shimabukuro's parents can't leave the island, however they give him their farewells and a crowd of fans cheer for him. The weigh-in begins, and Fujii and Mari arrive in time to see the amount of muscles Shimabukuro has as he passes the weight check. When Ippo's weight is checked, he goes fully nude, shocking the entire room. When he passes the weight check, Ippo and Shimabukuro greet each other, with the latter wanting the former's belt and the former not holding back. After the weigh-in, Shimabukuro comments how Ippo's body has gotten thicker for the fight, which he is thrilled for, as he wanted to fight Ippo face-to-face and defeat his Dempsey Roll so that he can win both titles. Kamogawa praises Ippo for acting like a challenger, as a different national title is on the line for the fight.
