Summary[]
Shimabukuro's Gazelle Punch is blocked by Ippo's Cross-Arm Block. Ippo proceeds to run away from the ropes and attack Shimabukuro. However, Ippo immediately guards against Shimabukuro's punches. Takamura points out that Ippo can see Shimabukuro's punches as Ippo was able to relax since he was smiling at the beginning of the round. Ippo realises the reason Kamogawa had him train the way he did and will believe in him until the end. Yagi notices how Ippo looks like he is punching a mitt, with Kamogawa realising that Ippo is punching where Kamogawa puts his hands and fighting like a challenger with only winning on his mind. When Ippo loses balance after throwing a punch, Shimabukuro begins to throw a punch. Ippo lands a right on Shimabukuro, which sends a ringing to his ears like it did during a practise session. Shimabukuro attempts to throw a punch, however he loses balance. Ippo then weaves in motion for the Dempsey Roll, with Shimabukuro getting ready to counter it.
