Summary[]
Aoki returns to the Kamogawa gym back to his normal weight class. Aoki jokingly claims that it is almost time for him to be a champion and go from "the normals" to "the belts". Kimura states that Aoki is at a 6-4 disadvantage with the champion being a orthodox fighter heavily focused on the basics. While avoiding the champion is hard, Kimura believes that Aoki's unorthodox style is nearly impossible to predict. Aoki asks Ippo and Takamura how holding the belt for the first time feels like. Takamura states that sitting on the king's throne is not a bad feeling. Ippo believes that with the way he barely survives his matches, he does not feel like a champion. He however tells Aoki that after he fought Sendō and touched the belt, it felt like everything he had done so far meant something and felt accomplished. At the Iwata's Chinese Noodles, Aoki's customers tells him that they will come and cheer for him at his title match. After work, Aoki thinks about how he wants to catch up with Ippo and Takamura. Kimura then appears and has Aoki ride with hi in his motorcycle for old times sake. After the ride, Aoki tells Kimura how Ippo and Takamura are different from them, however, after six years of hard work, Aoki will take the Japanese title. He then asks for Kimura to call him "sir" when he is champion, making Kimura mad.
