The Owari Dragon is Round 471 of Jōji Morikawa's Hajime no Ippo manga series.
Details[]
- Title Page Character(s): Alexander Volg Zangief, Ippo Makunouchi
Summary[]
Volg tells Ippo that he is unable to help him since Ippo has become strong, while he is a wolf without fangs, adding that the time that it will take to prepare himself is not enough. Ippo apologises for asking, and claims that he doesn't think his fangs are gone, since he knew they were still there when he saw his fighting pose he took earlier. Volg thanked Ippo and asked if he could do the tire-hitting training as well, which Ippo accepted. At the Oniyaritome gym, Sawamura is irritated that Karil hasn't brought any sparring partners for three days. Karil explains that he has tried, but the gyms he calls says that he overdoes things and no one wants to get injured. Sendō enters the gym, offering his help since Sawamura helped him before his comeback match. Sawamura declines his help due to Sendō and Ippo being friends, thinking that he will tell Ippo what he is doing. Sawamura offers to take Sendō out for a drink since he came from Osaka to get to the gym. The two walk to a vending machine and Sawamura gets him and Sendō a drink. Sawamura explains to Sendō how he wouldn't be of help since Sendō is different compared to Ippo even though they are both in-fighters, as fighting against Sendō's wild instincts would mess up his own timing for his counter. Sawamura notes how he has Ippo's Dempsey Roll rhythm down and that everyone who has taken the Dempsey Roll on by moving forward were wrong, as one just has to back up a little, making the Dempsey Roll just a regular hook. Sendō asks how Kawabe is doing, and Sawamura claims that he has too much time on his hands since he still keeps an eye on him. Sendō chastises Sawamura for talking like that about the high school teacher since if it wasn't for him, he would be in a bad place. They remember when they were back in high school and Sawamura was confronted by Sendō and his group after Sawamura beat someone up from Sendō's group. Sawamura and Sendō makes aggressive comments toward each other and prepares to fight.
