Summary

Sawamura tells Ippo how there will be nowhere he can run in the ring and no one can help him, planning to take his time and eat him while Kumi and Mashiba sit in horror, adding to the flavour. As Sawamura leaves, Ippo decides to end the plan of eating lunch so that Kumi can tend to her scratch. Before leaving, Ippo asks Kumi if she will watch him fight, which she agrees to. Kumi mentions to Mashiba that Ippo seems different and is worried about him. That night at the Makunouchi Fishing Boat, Umezawa wonders if Ippo is going to eat dinner with him and Hiroko. Hiroko claims that Ippo shut himself in his room since he came back from the weigh-in. In his room, Ippo is determined to defeat Sawamura. The next day, Sendō and Miyata meet at the Kōrakuen Hall, with the latter irritated at Miyata for ignoring him. Date approaches them and notes that he knows why their so tense since Sawamura is dangerous. Sendō tells Miyata that Sawamura will beat the Dempsey Roll the same way that he is imagining. In Ippo's waiting room, Umezawa arrives and teaches him a good luck saying in Russian taught to him by Volg. Ippo and Umezawa say the good luck saying before the former leaves for his match. In Sawamura's waiting room, he wakes up from a dream about his last dinner with his mother, where he could not see any colour, but remembers the taste of the meat, wanting a taste of Ippo's meat. As the JBC featherweight title match is about to begin, Sawamura and his seconds arrive to the ring.
