Summary[]
At the corner, Ippo tells Kamogawa and Yagi that he can still fight, not wanting to lose to Sawamura who treats boxing wrong since if he loses, every boxer in Japan will look foolish. Kamogawa sees that Ippo's spirit is still alive with much determination and that Ippo knows the full weight of the outcome. While Karil believes the fight is over after one more push from Sawamura, but tells him to not be overconfident, Sawamura notes that Ippo is tender now and is ready to eat. As the fifth round begins, Ippo gets hit in the face and body before putting his guard up against the punches. When Ippo puts his guard down to attack, he gets hit with multiple Bullets. Date and Miyata realise that Ippo's whole offensive strategy was predicted by Sawamura after purposely slowed his Bullets down to make it easier to get through and tempt Ippo into using the Dempsey Roll. Sawamura lands another body blow, drooling over how soft Ippo's meat is. Ippo begins to throw a punch as Sawamura throws a right counter.
