Summary

Ippo goes to the Yamaguchi Chiropractic for a check-up from Yamaguchi. She claims that his left knee is still bad, advising him to not even do light exercising for a while. She adds that he must not rely so much on the Dempsey Roll, as it deals great stress on his body, and that increasing the speed of it can lead to early retirement as he continues to use it. While walking home, Ippo questions himself if there is truly a way to beat stronger opponents than Sawamura without the use of the Dempsey Roll, and reach his goal to face Miyata. Umezawa drives by to pick Ippo up, and, on the way to his home, Umezawa tells Ippo that he can no longer work with them at the Makunouchi Fishing Boat family business, because he wants to pursue his dream to become a manga artist. Ippo eases his worries about the work load of the family business being put on just him and Hiroko as it was like that before he helped. When they arrive home, Umezawa proceeds to show Ippo his finished manga.

Trivia

• In the cover page, Miyata is illustrated working working as a cashier at a convenience store while wearing an apron. It is not revealed until Round 1234 that he does work as a cashier
