Summary

On the day of the weigh-in and press conference at the Yokohama Arena, Takamura is pleased to see his arena has been made well. Takamura and Eagle pass their weight check, with the former having to be completely nude to pass. Aoki and Papaya, as well as Kimura and Eleki pass their weight check as well. Takamura goes to the press conference and comments that the title match is simply a passing point as the match poster says. Eagle states that he also thinks of the match as a passing point, planning to make this fight nothing more than a step down his path. However, he feels that he couldn't look beyond Takamura since he's Japan's hero of world class skill, believing that he must do his absolute best during the match. When Eagle goes to shake Takamura's hand, Takamura refused as he viewed Eagle's comment as something a rookie would say and left. While his staff thought Takamura was being rude, Eagle feels that Takamura's eyes were already in fight mode, making him in no condition to shake hands. The next day, at the Yokohama Arena, Ippo comes across coaches Date and Okita whose boxer just lost a match. Ippo thinks that coaching must be hard work and that the atmosphere of the arena could even get to a veteran boxer.
