Summary

Date tells Ippo and Miyata how he thinks that Takamura's bad habits are on full display, and if he was his second, he would be having a heart attack. Miyata believes Eagle is the one who feels like he is having a heart attack, explaining how it may seem like he is calmly throwing counters, Takamura's full swings can turn one's blood into ice even if he doesn't land anything so there is a degree of tension that will build up and cause his body to slow down. As Eagle lands another counter on Takamura, Miyata notes that Eagle's step-in did not follow through because of the tension. Ippo states that he thinks another reason Takamura has yet to lose is that most downs are from punches that come from angles one doesn't see or punches that one doesn't anticipate, since if one can know what it coming, they can endure it. Ippo adds that Takamura didn't anticipate the punch that led to his first down, but now his body knows the timing so he can endure it, which is why he is able to retaliate after being hit. Date claims that even if Takamura isn't going down, he is still piling up damage and has come mostly empty handed. Ippo believes Takamura just has to keep punching and moving forward, since to his core, Takamura has always been an in-fighter type, so he gets hit multiple times and endures while moving forward. After Takamura gets countered, he throws a big uppercut that misses. However, Takamura uses the momentum of the swing to lean on Eagle, something he intended to do. Kamogawa realises that Takamura's repeated big swings was to create a chance to do this, as from that extremely close range, Eagle can't escape. Takamura lands a body blow at the extremely close range, making Eagle buckle over in pain.
