Summary

The arena is in an uproar after Takamura landed his first clean hit on Eagle. As Takamura throws punches at Eagle, Eagle decides to create a distance between them by backing away. Eagle's back touches the corner. Miyata remembers falling for the same tactic when Takamura used it on him during a spar at training camp, noting how Takamura is very skilled at forcing a quick opponent to the corner. Eagle feels like Takamura's potential is far greater than Hawk. Takamura slowly closes in on Eagle at the corner, while Eagle predicts that Takamura will use more compact punches and plans to escape after dodging a punch. Takamura stretches out both arms, blocking both escape routes. Takamura throws a left and right at the same time. Eagle stops the throws by pushing into Takamura's body, then switches positions, getting himself out of the corner. However, right after he did that, Takamura lands a liver blow at the extremely close range.

Trivia

• Someone in the audience on page nine is wearing a shirt that has the name "TETSUYA" on it. It is most likely a reference to the mangaka Chiba Tetsuya whom Morikawa is a huge fan of.
