Summary

Takamura's cut above his left eye causes blood to get in his eye. Everyone in the audience is worried, but Takamura motions for Eagle to come to him. Miyata tells Ippo that they should now be able to confirm if Takamura has retinal detachment in his right eye or not since if he does have it, he won't be able to see at all. Ippo thinks that it is too dangerous, since if he can't see, he will take damage from the world champion. Date yells at Ippo and Miyata for whispering, as they should be cheering loudly. Miyata tells Ippo to get ready to jump into the ring, because if it turns out he can't see out of either eye, don't care what anyone says and get into the ring and stop Takamura. Eagle sees that blood has gotten into Takamura's left eye, thinking that it is a terrible turn of events because he will soon have no depth perception. Takamura notices that Eagle is standing still, thinking that he must be trying to recover from his last down. Not wanting him to recover, Takamura goes towards him to attack. Eagle begins to throw a one-two, but Takamura dodges the first left. Ippo is excited that Takamura can see, but Miyata claims he might have dodged by instinct and should still keep watching him. Takamura and Kamogawa are positive that the second hit of the one-two will be aimed at his wound, so the former proceeds to guard his cut. Eagle, however, lands a right body blow for the second hit, surprising everyone. Eagle throws another one-two where Takamura dodges the high left, but gets hit again with a right body blow, confused as to why Eagle isn't aiming for his cut.
