Summary

Eagle clinches onto Takamura to avoid falling down. After the referee has Eagle let go, the champion immediately lands a one-two on the challenger's face. Takamura's cut opens up again, causing blood to draw, while Eagle struggles to stay standing still from Takamura's previous attack. Takamura is unable to see Eagle as the latter managed to get into Takamura's blind spot. As soon as Takamura finds him, the sixth round ends. At the corner, Eagle deems Takamura a straightforward boxer with incredible will as he is focused only on his injury, intending to use everything he has to defeat the challenger. The staff on both sides fixes up their boxer's cut, praising each other. As round seven begins, both boxers rush towards each other to the centre of the ring. The staff on both sides are worried about a doctor stop happening if either one of them gets their cut open again. Takamura thought that Eagle resembled Ippo, but him not going after his eye meant he misread him, and he lacks Ippo's eyes that led to countless come-back knockouts. Takamura blocks a sudden right from Eagle, who is starting to aim for his eye now. Takamura notices that Eagle's eyes have changed now. As Takamura blocks a barrage of punches, Takamura was thinking there wasn't anything to Eagle when he wasn't aiming for his cut, but now he sees that the champion is trying to win. As Takamura fights back, both boxers commence a exchange of punches at the centre of the ring. Miyata tells Ippo that he doesn't think Takamura has a detached retina after coming this far, so it doesn't look like they need to stop the match. Ippo agrees, wanting to watch it to the end. As the two boxers hit each other multiple times, their cuts have opened up once again.
