Summary

Ippo knows that even if Takamura can't see it, it's not just his wild instincts or spirit alone, the foundation of his strength is his persistent training. Kamogawa shows signs of throwing in the towel if the situation turns bad for Takamura. Eagle is satisfied in being able to fight Takamura. He lands a right straight on Takamura that causes his body to get pushed to the ropes and spring back toward Eagle. Eagle is going in for the kill, while Kamogawa is about to throw in the towel since he doesn't need the belt if Takamura isn't able to come back in one piece. Takamura remembers what he was practised to do, and imagines Kamogawa holding the mitts in front of him. He is able to dodge Eagle's punch, and counters it with a left hook. He continues to throw punches at him until Eagle falls to the ground. Takamura continues to throw punches since he can't see anything. The referee stops the match, and Eagle's seconds rushes to check on him. Takamura continues to throw punches looking for Eagle, until Kamogawa catches one of his punches with his hands. Kamogawa praises Takamura's punch as accurate and soulful. Takamura is surprise to see him, while Kamogawa wipes the blood off Takamura's eyes so he can see. Takamura sees the referee declaring him the winner, becoming the WBC middleweight champion.
