Summary[]
As the match begins, the audience jeers at Miyata for not fighting Ippo, calling him a traitor. Miyata's seconds thinks that it feels like an away match. Miyata enters his Detroit Style. Ippo tells Itagaki that the one thing to remember when fighting Miyata is to keep consciousness, as counters can temporally sever the brain from the body. Itagaki remembers when Ippo fought Sisphar and avoided a direct hit after pushing his head forward at the last second to throw off the impact, weaken the punch, and then with his spirit, stay conscious. Itagaki believes after seeing Ippo do that, there is no boxer that can knock Ippo unconscious. Knowing Miyata is a counter puncher, Sultan decides to not make the first move. Miyata attacks Sultan with fast footwork and a barrage of punches until he traps Sultan in a corner. Miyata attacks Sultan's guard like an in-fighter until Sultan tried to attack. Miyata attempts to counter the attack, however, Sultan guards against it. As Miyata goes to the other end of the ring, Sultan chases him and makes failed attempts on landing a hit on Miyata. Miyata lands a Cross Counter on one of Sultan's attacks.
