Summary

After Itagaki does roadwork with Kimura, they go to the Iwata's Chinese Noodles after Aoki had to close early due to popular demand. Itagaki and Kimura comment how if Aoki worked as hard as he does working at his job, he would be a boxing genius. Assuming the two are hungry, Aoki orders his new employees Hiroshi and Isamu of Team Aoki to cook the three of them ramen. After Itagaki and Kimura talk's about Ippo's technique of absorbing punches, Aoki shows them Isamu and Hiroshi's report chart about their boxing skills, including Ippo's. As Itagaki, who's only got speed, and Kimura, who has a very small circle, are upset about their rating, they see Aoki's rating is so high that it goes over the paper's border, they claim that it would be impossible for Aoki, making Aoki depressed. At the Kamogawa gym, Aoki vows to prove to Itagaki and Kimura that he is not just about ramen, by becoming champion. However, after realising that he is ranked seventh, Kimura's also ranked seventh, and Itagaki is ranked eighth, Kimura and Aoki wants to move up to avoid Itagaki surpassing them in the gym's internal ranking system. Shinoda reveals a way for all three of them to go up in the rankings by taking the on Class A Tournament, which all three accepts.
