Summary[]
The swelling on Ippo's face has gone down, and he is ready to help at the Makunouchi Fishing Boat. However, due to bad weather, the fishing boat isn't open for business. Instead, Itagaki asks Ippo to come to Kōrakuen Hall in order to see something. When Ippo arrives, he is introduced to Team Itagaki. Right as Team Itagaki were about to introduce themselves, Itagaki tells them not to do it until they prove themselves first by passing their pro test. Itagaki tells Ippo those two were underclass-men in his high school. They joined the Kamogawa gym six months ago, and they are about to take the pro test to be pros. Itagaki mentions they were both amateur boxers, and they should be able to pass if they don't get cocky. Itagaki been secretly training them, since Takamura, Aoki, and Kimura are known to put new members to the gym through training from hell. It is why the Kamogawa gym has so few new members, even though it has a lot of popular boxers. During the pro test, Ippo notices Saeki and Karasawa. They mention to Ippo they are entering the Class A Tournament, where they each plan to be the winner. They also mention that Fukui will enter it as well. Ippo introduces them to Itagaki. Ippo thinks the upcoming Class A Tournament will decide the King of Speed. While talking with them about the upcoming Class A Tournament, Yagi mentions Team Itagaki lost their pro test spars by knockout. Itagaki thinks he was too soft on them. He sees that he can't rely on others to move him up, so he decides he has to do it with his own two fists.
