Summary

Outside the Kōrakuen Hall, while Ippo and Yagi are worried about Team Itagaki, Itagaki feels that he can only worry about himself since he is good against in-fighters, but hasn't had experience against an out-boxer yet, nor against anyone faster than him. Ippo is asked by Yagi of his opinion, which Ippo comments that Itagaki is not much slower but lacks the experience Saeki and Karasawa have. Later after a fishing trip, Itagaki tries to get Nanako to go home since her help isn't needed, however, Nanako didn't want to leave because Kumi is around. As Nanako claims that Kumi shouldn't get in the way, Itagaki replies that she shouldn't get in Ippo and Kumi's way. When Nanako asks if it bothers him, Itagaki notes how he is jealous of Ippo having a belt and Kumi, but sees it as natural for his goal to have things that he wants and knows that Ippo will relinquish the title one day and with him at the top rankings, he would take the title. As Ippo and Kumi talk, Ippo gets excited after hearing that Mashiba is going to have his return match soon as his suspension is almost over and agrees to go with her to watch Mashiba's OPBF title match. When Itagaki gets back to the Kamogawa gym, Aoki and Kimura makes fun of him as they inform him that Team Itagaki quit the gym.
