Summary[]
At the Otowa gym, Randy, with Mr. Sakaguchi as his second has a public sparring session, where he defeated three of the gym's ranked boxers. Mr. Sakaguchi is disappointed to hear that there are no more boxers to fight, remarking that he should have gone to Mexico instead. He asks for someone to call other gyms for boxers who uses their feet to spar with Randy. At the Kamogawa gym, Itagaki says that he will do it. The next day, Itagaki goes to the Otowa gym with Shinoda and Ippo to spar against Randy. The Otowa coach wishes for Itagaki to beat him since Randy and Mr. Sakaguchi are looking down on the Japanese. Ippo watches Randy shadowbox as Mari approaches him commenting how it looks like he is glaring at him like he stole his lover and asks if he came to fight him too. Ippo claims that he is only observing. When Itagaki gets in the ring with Randy, Ippo and Itagaki notice the air is different around Randy, feeling as if Randy is strong. Ippo warns Itagaki that Randy is a Switch Hitter. Itagaki tells Ippo that he will do his best, but if the unthinkable happens, he requests for Ippo to take over.
