Summary

Itagaki dodges Randy's left jab], right jab, and left hook combination. After the first round ends, the second round begins. Mari asks Ippo if he thinks he would be able to catch Itagaki. Ippo believes that it would be hard for anyone to catch him right away, and they would have to put a lot of pressure on him and keep him moving. He adds that when Itagaki gets tired and loses concentration in the later rounds, it would be the time to make a move. Itagaki thinks of how he has to put a lot of effort in dodging Randy's punches, but he plans to not let up and use everything he has and fight back. At the Kamogawa gym, after Aoki and Kimura spar, they note how they can't get in the mood since there is no one watching. Kimura comments how Takamura is on vacation and Kamogawa won't show up to the gym either. Kimura wonders what Itagaki is up to. Aoki and Kimura hopes Itagaki loses against Randy in order for him to not pass them in the gym ranking. At the Otowa gym, Itagaki is downed by Randy after two minutes and forty seconds in the second round. Itagaki gets up, confused as to what happened since his speed was faster than Randy and he never let his guard down, however, everything went pitch black. As Itagaki goes and attacks Randy, he hears a noise that messes up his rhythm. Randy dodges Itagaki's jab by moving to the side. Itagaki is confused as to how Randy's right suddenly is close to his face as he gets hit by a right jab. Itagaki tries to attack Randy, but the same thing happens as Randy hits him again with a right. Itagaki and Ippo realises that Randy switched to the Southpaw stance. Itagaki goes down a second time from the right while thinking that Miyata shouldn't fight Randy since it would be the worse possible match up.
