Summary

Unable to fight after the second down, Itagaki is carried out from the ring by Shinoda and Ippo. Mr. Sakaguchi laughs at and mocks everyone applauding Itagaki for thinking that Randy was forced to fight seriously, claiming that he wasn't fighting seriously and that they will see that happen when he takes the world champion, Ricardo down. As Mr. Sakaguchi was about to leave with Randy, Randy notices that Ippo is glaring at them. Ippo asks if Randy is ready for the world since he still has to fight Miyata. Mr. Sakaguchi downplays Miyata by calling him a mere stepping stone to go to the world stage, making Ippo irritated at the two that got between him and Miyata. Itagaki mentions to Shinoda that there is one round left since the three round spar ended in two rounds. As Ippo looked ready to spar against Randy for the remaining one round, everyone in the gym chants Ippo's name. Ippo thinks of how it is Mr. Sakaguchi and Randy's fault that he can't fight Miyata, so there isn't anything more heavy to him than this. As Ippo gets ready, he shadowboxes, which causes Randy to twitch. Ippo enters the ring to fight Randy for one round.
