Summary

After hitting Randy with a Cross Counter, Miyata escapes from the corner and goes to the other side of the ring. Mr. Sakaguchi is shocked, having never seen anyone escape from Randy so easily before. Miyata's father doesn't think Miyata has ever been pushed to a corner before in the first round of a match. Miyata enters his usual Detroit Style and signals for Randy to fight him in the centre of the ring, which Randy accepts. Miyata thinks of how he has trained to face the strongest puncher in the world for a while, so if he were to back down from Randy's attacks, he feels he would get a laughed at by him. After dodging Randy's long range punches, Miyata and Randy enters an in-fight exchange at the centre of the ring, which Miyata dominates, hitting Randy multiple times until the first round ends. Sendō is angry that Miyata wasn't this fast when he sparred against him. Ippo thinks that this is the fastest that he has ever seen Miyata before. Randy believes Miyata's speed is at a level that's higher than anything he has seen before, and thinks that he was wrong to think he could fight on his terms. Miyata thinks of how his punches are coming out clean, all his steps are crisp, and his body is feeling light. Miyata feels razor sharp.
