Summary[]
With Randy down, Miyata goes to a neutral corner. Sawamura tells Ippo, Itagaki, and Sendō that Randy wasn't getting faster, Miyata as easing up a bit to make it appear he can be caught. He explains that Miyata was baiting Randy into going on the offensive, then once he attacked, Miyata sped up again to hit him from the side. Watching the match on TV, Takamura claims that the way he threw the counter was just like how he taught him at the training camp. Kamogawa remembers when a young Miyata came to his gym after his father retired and asked one thing: to be taught counters. After Randy gets up, he is confused as to what happened until he sees Miyata waiting at the neutral corner, realising that he just got knocked down. As the round continues, Miyata rushes from the neutral corner as Randy hunches over from the damage.
