Summary

Miyata and Randy begin having an exchange at the centre of the ring. Miyata sways and twists his neck to avoid Randy's punches, then "feints" a right to hit Randy's face with a left before using footwork to create a distance between them. Sendō notices that Miyata wasn't feinting the right, as he looked in pain while trying to throw it. Sendō believes Miyata's ribs are seriously damaged so he can't throw his right, which means the quality of his counters are lower as well. He explains that when someone extends their arm out, the muscles pulls on their ribs, causing the body to freak out, something he finds difficult to deal with. Ippo wonders if Sendō ever had to deal with it, and Sendō yells at him because he was the one to cause it to happen to him. Sawamura points out that it may seem like Miyata is easily dodging Randy's punches now, but his lower body can barely move now, as he is out of gas. He believes it was the price to pay for Miyata to fight at full speed like he did, and the body blows made it worse, so his legs might be done for. Itagaki believes that Miyata is still faster than most people, however, Sawamura states that he isn't fast enough to get away from Randy, who can see him clearly and keep him in his sights. Sendō notes that Miyata will just get slower as the match goes on as well. Ippo is worried, as he knows that Miyata isn't the type to run away to survive, thinking that he is just brave. Mr. Sakaguchi thinks Miyata is foolish, as he has the potential to win by decision if he just switched to out-boxing, but his pride, he won't even consider that as an option. Mr. Sakaguchi is thankful for the cannon fodder he threw at Miyata, believing that he knows him more than his best friend ever would, knowing that he tries to play it cool but he is really a hothead, thinking that is childish. Randy moves forwards while guarding against Miyata's left jabs. After getting hit by two body blows that he was unable to avoid, Miyata gets pressured, as he does not know where to go, making him back into a corner. Miyata fights his way out of the corner by landing multiple lefts on Randy's head, however, he quickly falls down due to his jaw getting hit while trying to escape. Randy is surprised by how accurate Mr. Sakaguchi's data he had about Miyata's glass jaw.
