Summary

As the count begins for the downed Miyata, Kamogawa remembers that Miyata's down from a hit to the jaw was just like when Ippo spared against him and downed him from a hit to the jaw. He thinks that Miyata has surpassed his father in not only his strengths, but also his weaknesses, as just like his father, Miyata's proud and sharp sword is easy to break. Miyata's father, the Kawahara coach, and Kida note how there are many boxers that can go up a weight class and get stronger instantly, but as long as Miyata remains being a featherweight, he will go from having positives and negatives to only negatives. However, Miyata gets up while thinking that this is the path he has chosen. As soon as the match resumes, the fifth round ends. At Randy's corner, Mr. Sakaguchi deems Miyata and his father pitiful existences to Randy, noting to Randy that it will only take one more down to make him win. At Miyata's corner, Miyata realises that he can't hide his pain from his father and tells him that he can only use his right to attack with all his strength two or three more times. As the sixth round begins, Miyata plants his feet and put up his guard, blocking Randy's attacks. When his guard breaks, Miyata's tries to use his right, but it misses. Miyata is unable to avoid Randy's combinations to his face.
