Summary

Miyata gets pushed to the ropes by Randy's previous attack. Miyata is able to put his guard up again, blocking the attacks while at the ropes. Sendō advises Ippo to watch how Randy attacks if he wants to take him down, as he thinks Randy will be his next opponent. Ippo doesn't think he will need to, as it isn't the first time he has seen Miyata on the edge, believing that he always turns it around. When a right goes through Miyata's guard and hits his face, Miyata goes down. Remembering that he wanted to prove that his father's boxing isn't wrong, Miyata stands up. Randy rushes towards Miyata right when the match resumes. Much to Randy's shock, Miyata goes on the offence, throwing big low-to-high punches that Randy easily dodges while wondering if they are jabs or uppercuts.

Trivia

• In the Weekly Shōnen Magazine release, the chapter erroneously had the same chapter number and title as chapter 839. This is fixed in the tankōbon release.
