Summary[]
Ippo and Oda enters the ring. Takamura, Aoki and Kimura cheers for Ippo as he stares down Oda. Round one begins, Oda rushes toward Ippo, Ippo dodges. Ippo, getting used to Oda's punches, lands a right, Oda begins throwing punches as Ippo dodges until round one is finished. Ippo and Oda goes to their corners until round two. Round two begins, Ippo and Oda throws punches, hitting each other, Ippo throws some body blows. Oda is backed into a corner and can barely move his legs. Ippo throws punches at Oda, with a couple of body blows, Oda is down. Oda gets up at the count of seven, Ippo goes toward Oda and slips, Oda used this chance to graze Ippo, cutting the latter's eye causing the doctor to pause the match. The doctor looks at Ippo's eye and says that if the cut reopens, he has to stop the match, Kamogawa gets an ice bag ready, as round two is over. When Ippo sits down, Kamogawa immediately puts an ice bag over Ippo's cut and treats it with Aventine. Round three begins and Oda's legs are about to give in. They both begin to hit each other, Oda is aiming for the cut to make it bleed by clinching and hitting the cut area, it finally bleeds again. Ippo is trying to guard the cut with his left hand, leaving him to only being able to dodge. Ippo then switches to Southpaw, but he has trouble with it at first, until he remembered how he learned the jab. As the cut on the eye gets worse, Ippo hits Oda with multiple jabs to the face until Oda is down. The referee stops the match immediately and announces Ippo is the winner. After the match, Oda is thankful to Ippo, who has shown him that boxing can be fun. Reiko walks to Oda and says that he "never looked more awesome" and wants him to keep boxing. Mikami tells Oda to go home so that he can train tomorrow. Outside, Ippo tells Kamogawa he is thankful before the latter walks away. Yagi announces Kamogawa left everyone money to celebrate. Ippo, Takamura, Aoki, Kimura and Yagi goes to Sugar Ray and toasts for Ippo's victory. The waitresses find Ippo cute when he blushes, Takamura debags Ippo in front of everyone.
